Thanks for coming to check out this post! I just wanted to spread the word that my new and improved portfolio has been launched. Here’s a little insight into the revamp.
My original portfolio page was put up in somewhat of a rush. It was always intended as a work in progress. (You can still see it here for now: http://mattfouty.com/oldportfolio.html) It took a while for me to finally complete the update. For one, I was too busy! Also, I didn’t know what I wanted to do.
One day, I felt particularly inspired so I got out my moleskine sketchbook and started sketching out the blueprint. For a few weeks, I was sneaking in time from my busy schedule to work on my portfolio. Finally, it was complete!
The portfolio home has three sections: Collections, Recent Work, and Clients. I will keep three of my most recent/relevant projects in the recent work section. The recent work links to that clients’ page on my site. This section is also now repeated on my homepage.
The collections allow the user to view a collection of my work by category (identity, print, and multimedia). Below is a preview of the Identity collection page:
I’ve also added an effect that opens the images/webpages in front of the current page while dimming out the background. To do this, I am using a great java tool called “shadowbox“. Here is a preview of that effect:
So, thanks for checking out this post. Now, head to my portfolio to see it in action! I’d love to hear your feedback!
